Nous avons le plaisir de vous retrouver cette année pour la 6ème édition du Printemps asiatique qui se déroulera du 7 au 16 juin prochain. Un programme d’une quarantaine d’évènements culturels aura lieu tout au long de cette semaine spéciale : tables-rondes, visites guidées et ateliers immersifs se dérouleront dans toute la capitale, en différents lieux (musées, centres culturels, universités) où les arts asiatiques seront exposés et transmis.

En attendant, nous vous proposons de découvrir l’actualité du monde des arts asiatiques avec des articles dédiés : portraits d’acteurs du monde de l’art asiatique, prochaines ventes aux enchères, actualité muséale nationale et internationale seront à retrouver sur le site officiel du Printemps Asiatique.
Arnaud Bertrand, Sinologist & Executive Director - AFAO
Defining Arnaud Bertrand is not easy because he is a man of many talents, an energetic driving force behind many projects in various directions. The easiest way would be to describe him by his background. An archaeologist with a doctorate in sinology, specialising in relations between the Chinese and Central Asian worlds in antiquity, Arnaud Bertrand is a man of the field who has spent part of his research life in Asia, the United States and Europe.

Paintings and ceramics in dialogue, around the Chinese and Japanese collections, bequeathed by Harley H. Preston at the Musée Cernuschi
From April 14 to July 30, 2023, the Musée Cernuschi presents a new exhibition of Chinese and Japanese ceramics and paintings, in tribute to the art historian and collector Harley Preston.

Interview with Monique Crick, former Director of the Baur Foundation and President of SFECO
Monique Crick is a historian of Asian arts, specialized in ancient China. From 2003 to 2017, she directed the Baur Foundation, the museum of Far Eastern arts in Geneva. Founding president of the Société Française d'Etudes de la Céramique Orientale (SFECO), we will have the pleasure of welcoming her to this new edition of Printemps Asiatique for a round-table discussion on ceramics organized at Tajan.

A remarkable Asian collection in Western France
The musée Pincé’s collections are divided into three major groups: ancient Mediterranean civilizations, pre-Columbian American civilizations and a third area grouping the arts of the Far East (China and Japan). The museum's Asian collection is distinguished by its Chinese ceramics and bronzes as well as its lacquer objects and Japanese theater masks. Japanese prints, meanwhile, are displayed on a rotating basis in the graphic arts cabinet on the first floor of the museum in conjunction with the annual temporary exhibition.

The sale will take place on Wednesday 12 April from 1:30 pm and will be preceded by an exhibition of lots from Monday 3 April. In partnership with AFAO (Association française des amis de l'Orient), a guided tour will be held in the exhibition on Thursday April 6 at 11 am led by our specialist Mrs WANG Wei, followed by a free appraisal session for participants.

"L’Asie sans réserve” at the Musée d’arts asiatiques in Nice
After the success of the Hokusai exhibition, the Musée départemental des arts asiatiques in Nice presents a new ambitious project. Its aim is to discover Asian works that are rarely presented for several reasons: too fragile to be exhibited, far from the museum's theme, or misunderstood because of their provenance.​

La galerie est spécialisée dans les œuvres japonaises Momoyama, Edo et Meiji. Namban, laque, paravent, mobilier européen, et curiosités se côtoient de manière unique. Passionnée par le «Grand Siècle», la Galerie Tiago aime combiner des objets de différents horizons, périodes, styles, artistes, afin d'inventer un univers décoratif fascinant.

Hiroshige : un ensemble exceptionnel d’estampes présentées au musée Guimet
Pour la première fois en France, le musée Guimet réunit un ensemble unique d’estampes d’Utagawa Hiroshige (1797-1858) destinées à orner des éventails. Objets courants de consommation, les éventails étaient le plus fréquemment jetés, leur conférant une grande rareté. Provenant de la collection Georges Leskowicz, l’une des plus belles collections d’estampes japonaises, ces œuvres d’art ont été réalisées entre les années 1830 et 1850. Elles comptent parmi et les plus élaborées de l’œuvre de l’artiste, l’un des derniers grands imagiers du Japon de l’époque d’Edo (1603-1868). Ces feuilles d’éventails révèlent l’inventivité graphique et la grande diversité du travail d’Hiroshige

Prochaine vente d’arts d’Asie : Aponem - Hôtel des ventes de Cergy-Pontoise
“Du Vietnam à la Chine : 100 ans de collections”
Le 14 mars prochain a lieu une vente exceptionnelle chez Aponem - Hôtel des ventes de Cergy-Pontoise -. Cette vente est dédiée à la même et unique famille qui débuta au Vietnam sa collection dans les années 1920 et fut enrichie à Paris par les descendants tout au long du XXe siècle. La plupart des objets présentés lors de cette vente n’ont encore jamais été vus.
