Guided Tour: Restoration workshop - Marion Boyer

Discovery of Marion Boyer's art restoration workshop, located in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.

"Alongside my work as a restorer of Western paintings for over 30 years, I have specialised in the restoration of Tibetan thangkas, Buddhist religious paintings made on a loose textile support, originally intended to be rolled and unrolled for meditation practices.

I am passionate about this ever-changing profession. The history of Tibetan art progresses with the discovery and translation of new manuscripts. The technique of conservation and restoration must follow this change, progress and adapt. This visit will allow me to explain my approach and my understanding of these very special objects. To begin with, I will draw a parallel with the classical paintings that we know better, by presenting you different restoration works that I have carried out for French and international museums, as well as for private clients.
