This conference highlights the rich legacy of Indian textiles and the art of draping, exploring the deep ties between craftsmanship, spirituality, and cultural identity. Darshan Shah, founder of Weavers' Studio in Kolkata, will join Aurélie Samuel, Director of Art, Culture & Heritage at Louis Vuitton, for a dynamic exchange. Drawing on Shah’s landmark project Textiles from Bengal: A Shared Legacy and Samuel’s curatorial expertise in Indian art, they will discuss Bengal’s textile history, the beauty of gold-threaded saris, and the enduring dialogue between Indian and French traditions.
