About the event
Laure Schwartz-Arenales, Director of the Baur Foundation, Museum of Far Eastern Art, which this year celebrates the 60th anniversary of its opening to the public, and Isabelle Naef Galuba, Director of the Musée Ariana, Swiss Museum of Ceramics and Glass, will share with us the history of their two Swiss institutions through the collections assembled by their founders Alfred Baur (1865-1951) and Gustave Revilliod (1817-1890). They will give us their vision of the future of their institutions through their projects and initiatives, their policies for developing their collections, and the place of contemporary art within their walls.
These two Geneva museums and the Martin Bodmer Foundation are among the recipients of the Japan Foreign Minister's Prize 2024, awarded on the occasion of the 160th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland; this recognition rewards the laureates for their significant contribution to the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and Switzerland.
