Atelier Ye Xingqian
France

French-Chinese artist
Born in 1963 in China, artist YE Xingqian has been painting since early childhood. He emigrated to France at the age of 19 and, despite many material hardships, continued to paint. Since the 1990s, he has exhibited regularly in both countries. His work embraces the language of abstraction and decisively turns away from traditional Chinese painting, while still acknowledging his Chinese heritage.
Several of his works are held in museums in China; in France, three museums already include his works in their collections:
In 2018, five watercolors on paper were acquired by the prestigious Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet.
In 2021, a large ink on canvas was added to the collection of the Cernuschi Museum in Paris.
In 2024, six paintings by the artist, representing various phases of his artistic evolution, joined the collection of the Georges Labit Museum in Toulouse. They are currently on display at the Musée des Arts Précieux – Paul Dupuy until June 22, 2025.
