Art from India and the Indian world and contemporary Japanese ceramics
Founded by Christophe Hioco, a lifelong passionate collector, Galerie Hioco specializes in ancient Asian art—particularly statuary from India and the Indianized world—as well as contemporary Japanese ceramics.
The adventure truly began during his years in Asia—first in Tokyo, then in Singapore—where he deepened his knowledge of Asian art through extensive travel.
After a 30-year career at JP Morgan, Christophe Hioco chose in 2003 to fully dedicate himself to his passion for Asian art. He founded his gallery, first in London and then in Paris, driven by the standards and sensitivity of a collector in pursuit of excellence. In 2013, he was joined by his son, Gildas Hioco, a graduate of University College London and HEC Paris, with a background in finance and the creation of an investment fund dedicated to art.
Galerie Hioco adheres to the highest standards in selecting artworks: quality, provenance, authenticity, and originality are at the core of its values. The gallery works closely with recognized experts and uses the most advanced scientific methods to ensure the integrity of each piece.
Recognized by leading museums and collectors worldwide, the gallery regularly participates in major international Asian art fairs, including the Paris Biennale, Parcours des Mondes, BRAFA, and Asia Week New York. It is a member of the SNA (National Syndicate of Antique Dealers in France), the Royal Chamber of Art Dealers in Belgium, and the Asia Week New York Association.
