Louis & Sack

Postwar Japanese avant-garde and contemporary Korea

3 Cr de Rohan, 75006 Paris, France

Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 7 pm

By appoinment

Founded in 2020 by Rébecca Sack and Aude Louis Carvès, Louis & Sack is dedicated to modern and contemporary Asian artists.

Its programme is rooted in in-depth research into the aesthetics and intellectual frameworks of artists who have chosen France as a place of expression. It is structured around two main areas: Japanese painters of the New School of Paris (1950–1975), and 21st-century Korean contemporary creation, particularly in painting and ceramics.

The gallery was born from a shared passion for post-war Japanese painting, shaped by complementary careers in the art market. After several years spent in Asia, Rébecca Sack, who holds degrees in Chinese language and international relations, became director of Galerie Jacques Barrère in 2012. Aude Louis Carvès, trained in art history, began her career at Aguttes in 2006 before joining Bonhams in Paris, where she was responsible for the Asian Art department.

Located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the Cour de Rohan, the gallery regularly presents exhibitions devoted to its Japanese artists, as well as a selection of contemporary Asian ceramics.

For the 9th edition of Printemps Asiatique Paris, Louis & Sack is taking part in the Asian Art Fair at Galerie Charpentier with a duo-show dedicated to contemporary Korean artists Lee Hyun Joung and Baek Seungsoo.
