Established in 2009 in the heart of the Marais, near the Picasso Museum, Galerie Jean-François Cazeau builds on a distinguished family tradition while developing a singular vision of 20th-century art. It creates connections between the great masters of modern art, post-war movements and contemporary creation, within a cross-disciplinary approach to art history.
On the occasion of Printemps Asiatique Paris, the gallery will present a selection of works highlighting the dialogue between Western avant-gardes and Asian artists of the 20th century. Particular attention will be given to two major figures of abstraction, Zao Wou-Ki and Chu Teh-Chun, whose works reflect the fruitful encounter between Chinese pictorial tradition and Western modernity.
Through this presentation, the gallery explores the formal continuities and ruptures that have shaped the evolution of artistic modernity, while reaffirming its commitment to an open and international perspective on 20th-century art.
