An art dealer since 2005, Martin Doustar initially specialised in modern art and the historical avant-gardes before gradually expanding his expertise towards more distant fields, including archaeology, tribal art, and Asian art. The publication of numerous catalogues accompanying exhibitions presented at major fairs such as Parcours des Mondes, Paris Tribal, BRAFA, Cologne Fine Art, Frieze Masters, and TEFAF reflects both the eclecticism and the aesthetic rigor of his selections.
On the occasion of Printemps Asiatique Paris, and for his first participation in the event, the gallery will notably present a selection of portraits of Korean dignitaries from the Joseon dynasty, some of which come from the former collection of Victor Collin de Plancy (1853–1922), the renowned French diplomat and major collector who was posted in Korea between 1887 and 1906.
